Services - Air Tightness testing

Build Check offer a comprehensive UKAS accredited building air tightness testing service (also referred to as air permeability & air leakage) throughout the UK for both the Commercial and Dwellings markets.

Additional associated services ensure that the air tightness strategy for every building is successful. Our range of services includes:

• Commercial industrial & domestic building air tightness testing to ATTMA TS1 – as required by Parts L1 and L2 of the Building Regulations
• Drawing review Design and/or construction drawings reviewed and commented on identifying potential, design or types of materials which may result in air leakage paths through the building envelope
  
• Pre-test Inspection This is usually undertaken at various stages on the building construction for example immediately prior to installation of cladding, roof, dry-lining etc.
  
• Fault Finding - Infrared Thermographic Surveys and Smoke Testing In the event of a test indicating an Air leakage rate in excess of that required, a thorough visual inspection will often find gaps in the building envelope which, once sealed, will often result in a successful re-test. However, in instances where the cause of the excessive air leakage cannot easily be determined, Build Check engineers can undertake an Infrared Thermographic Survey or Smoke testing.
  
• Lunch time seminars Aimed at Engineers and Project Managers, Build Check offer a 1 hour Power Point presentation which may be used to contribute towards CPD points required for membership of Professional Institutions.
  
• Site training/induction One effective method to improve building air leakage pass rate is for on-site seminars to be carried out for the construction team. Build Check carry out such seminars and strongly recommend that a training programme is allowed for on all large projects.
