PAS 24:2016 is the BSI standard in the UK for the enhanced security performance requirements of windows and doors. Driven by the UK Police security initiative, Secured by Design (SBD), which promotes the use of effective crime prevention and security standards, PAS 24 lays out methods for testing and assessing the enhanced security performance requirements of doors and window with the intention of preventing crime, most commonly casual and opportunistic burglary.
PAS 24 applies to new and complete window and doors and only prior to installation and addresses whether entry through the door or window is possible by manipulation of a lock cylinder using implements such as a screwdriver.
